Liu Honggao Liu Honggao (劉弘杲) (d. 943), formally the Prince of Xun (循王), was an imperial prince and chancellor of the Chinese Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period state Southern Han. He was falsely accused of treason and killed during the reign of his brother Liu Sheng (né Liu Hongxi, Emperor Zhongzong). == Background == It is not known when Liu Honggao was born, and it is not known who his mother was. However, it is known that he was Liu Yan's 10th son.〔''Spring and Autumn Annals of the Ten Kingdoms'', (vol. 61 ).〕 In 932, Liu Yan created 19 of his sons, including Liu Honggao, imperial princes, with Liu Honggao receiving the title of Prince of Xun.〔''Zizhi Tongjian'', vol. 278.〕
